The Pulsar Thermion XQ50 is one of the new models from the Thermion line and has a 50mm lens. The other new model from the Thermion line is the Thermion XQ38 and it has a 38mm lens. What is the big difference now? With a 38mm lens you have a wider field of view and with the 50mm lens you can see further away. Do you want a thermal imaging rifle scope with a very fast start-up time? Then this viewer might be something for you! You only have to touch the ON button and you will have a picture in no time.
Range
The Pulsar Thermion XQ50 has a range of +/- 1800 meters, thanks to its F50 lens. Heat sources can therefore be observed up to this distance. When looking over 1000 meters, a heat source of 1.8 meters (or a person) can be observed, identification at this distance is not possible. The viewer has a 3.5-14x magnification. Do keep in mind; the more magnification, the less sharp the image. Thanks to the 50Hz refresh rate, you have smooth images if you want to quickly explore the environment.
shoot in
Unlike the rifle scopes of Zeiss, Swarovski, Meopta and so on, the shooting of these scopes works a little differently. With the Pulsar Thermion XQ50, bring your reticle to the site of the shot.
So you shoot at your target at a distance of your choice. After you have shot, you will see that your bullet is never in the right place right away. Make sure you can see where your bullet has landed and use the menu with the X and Y axes to bring your cross to that point and save the coordinates afterwards.
You will see, if you do this right, do you hit the bull’s eye with your 2nd shot or in the middle of your target?
Are you unsure whether you can do this? Or will it not work? We are happy to explain it to you in our shop. Or when you buy this Thermion XQ50 from us, we will take you to the shooting range and make sure that you become familiar with this scope and this new technique.
Colour
The Pulsar Thermion XQ50 has 8 different color palettes, which makes it easier to observe in different weather conditions. The standard colors White hot and Hot Black are the most commonly used. Of which the Hot Black is usually used at night. The red color ensures that people are less likely to become “night blind”. You can also choose from:
– Rainbow
– Ultramarine
– Violet
– Red Monochrome
– Sepia
So you can choose which color suits you and the environment best.
Image Boost
This is new software specially designed by Pulsar to see EVEN more details. Image boost results in a sharper image, more details visible and improved possibilities for object identification.
Note: this must first be set to ON in the menu.
Picture in Picture function
This function provides a small display at the top of the display. This allows you to zoom in more easily on what gives off some heat while you also continue to observe the rest of the environment. Ideal for when you want to shoot at a greater distance and don’t want to miss anything of the area.
battery pack
This Pulsar Thermion XQ50 is equipped with a Dual-lion B-pack Mini power system. This is a small battery that lasts for 4 hours. Furthermore, the Thermion XQ50 is equipped with an internal battery, which also lasts 4 hours. So you can use this Thermion for a total of 8 hours. You can charge the internal battery with the included micro USB cable and charge the small battery with the included charger. You can also charge them simultaneously, via the mirco USB cable.
Wi-Fi
The Pulsar Thermion XQ50 has a WiFi function so that you can also use the Stream Vision app. This viewer has a built-in video recorder which can also take pictures. In this way you can relive your memorable hunting moments. When your smartphone or tablet is connected to your viewer, you can also let someone else enjoy what you see through the viewer. Perfect if you are on the road with 2 people and want to enjoy it to the fullest.
Ease of use
The Thermion XQ50 weighs only 900 grams. This thermal imaging rifle scope has a 30mm tube and is therefore easy to mount on a bullet rifle with 30mm rings. Thanks to the IPX7, the viewer is completely waterproof. This applies to both rain and snow. The viewer can even be used up to 1 meter under water for a period of up to 30 minutes. The Thermion XQ50 can be used at temperatures from -25 to +/- +50 degrees Celsius.
