Zeiss DTI 3/35

Meet Zeiss’ first thermal imaging camera, the Zeiss DTI 3/35. This ergonomically designed and easy-to-use thermal imaging spotter is currently Zeiss’ flagship product. Zeiss, of course, is known for its rifle and binoculars but saw the demand for thermal imaging spotting scopes increase tremendously, resulting in the Zeiss DTI 3/35.

Range Zeiss DTI 3/35

This Zeiss DTI 3/35 has a range of +/- 1200 meters thanks to its 35mm lens. Thus, up to this distance one can detect larger heat sources (think of people or cars). The viewer has 1-4x magnification which goes up by 0.5 each time. Thus, you still retain maximum detailed image. Thanks to the 50Hz refresh rate, you have smooth images if you want to quickly explore the environment.

Colors

The Zeiss DTI features 5 color palettes, so you can choose the one that suits you best. The default setting, of course, is white/black.

0.5 zoom function

Using this feature, you can get an even closer look at the heat source. Whereas most thermal imaging scopes, when you go to magnify, double the magnification, this Zeiss DTI has 0.5 times magnification. Indeed, high magnification does not always result in a better image either, as digital pixels are pulled apart, reducing contrast.

Zeiss Hunting app

The Zeiss DTI can be paired with the Zeiss hunting app. This allows you to quickly and easily download your photos or videos and share them with others. When the Zeiss Hunting app is installed, you can also use the life stream feature, which allows other people to see what you see through the Zeiss DTI.

Wi-Fi

This Zeiss DTI features a Wi-Fi function that allows you to use the Zeiss hunting app, among other things.

Ease of use

This Zeiss DTI 3/35 is ergonomically designed and easy to operate. This spotter weighs only 450 grams, ideal for when one wants to go berserk. This spotter features 5 buttons which are deliberately placed a little further apart so that, in the dark, you do not accidentally press the wrong button.
