The Eye III Max features the new Infiray Outdoor mid-range sensor. The resolution of the InfiRay Eye III E3 Max V3.0 Imager is 384 x 288 pixels, which is typical for the mid-range. The special feature of the new 12 µm sensor is in the details.

The Eye III is particularly sensitive. The sensor detects temperature differences below 25 NETD. This value is sometimes significantly lower than competing devices. The result is an almost realistic (black and white) image and a subjectively much better image impression.

The most striking feature of the EYE III series is its unique housing, created by the professional designers.

The lens is protected by a flip up lens hood that also acts as a “POWER button”: when you open the hood the camera turns on in a few seconds, and when you close the hood the device goes into sleep mode or off.

There are only two controls on the top of the device, a photo-video button and a rotary/push button. All functions are easily controlled with the scroll wheel , zooming is easy by simply turning the scroll wheel.

To scroll through the menu, pressing the scroll wheel is enough.

What is new is that the Eye III features a magnetic charging port. Some circumstances require fast loading, for which this technique is the solution.

With the magnetic charger, one can charge the Eye III to 90% in an hour, allowing it to be used again for hours.

The menu system and controls are still simple as we are used to with previous X-Eye models. In the InfiRay Eye III E3 Max V3 thermal imaging camera, we get a 4x digital zoom in 0.5x increments. In addition, we get ultra Clear mode, Wi-Fi function, photo in PIP photo and also set image parameters (for example, sharpness enhancement).

What is new is that it has different color modes (contrast settings), such as Forest, Flatland, Focus and City. In focus mode, most of the image is normal, but the circular area in the center of the image has high contrast to better separate heat sources from their surroundings.

Via the wifi connection, a smartphone and the updated Infiray Outdoor app can be used to view the camera, as well as take video or photos

The internal memory of the Eye III is a whopping 32 GB with this you can store thousands of photos or videos with sound.

In addition, the menu also includes Interconnection, which allows you to link two EYE III cameras so that two hunters can see the image from each other’s thermal imaging cameras.
