It’s a big and widespread misconception that dogs can’t see colors. Dogs see a less broad spectrum of colors but definitely see colors. Tip: if you train with a young dog, it is wise to start the training with a striking dummy such as an orange dummy. In this way the dog learns to work better by sight. When the dog is going to be trained more on smell or smell, it is wise to use a dummy with an inconspicuous color, such as a green dummy. The dog is then forced to work with the nose instead of sight. This is also the reason that dummies are marketed in different colors.
