FX Impact M4 Extended – Black

This FX Impact M4 Extended – Black is the fourth generation of what can by now be considered the most successful all-round PCP compressed air rifle of all time.
This ultra-clean and multi-adjustable air rifle has a modular base, making it suitable for basically any shooting discipline.
From benchrest to hunting and everything in between.
Compared to the previous model, the Impact M3, some radical and some subtle changes have been made to take the FX Impact M4 to an even higher level while improving its ease of use.
We take you through its key features and the updates it has received.
An FX Impact M3 versus FX Impact M4 so to speak. AMP MKIII regulator The Dual Regulator system has given way to a single AMP MKIII regulator with a brass piston.
With this, it is stronger and more consistent with a higher fill rate as well.
In addition, this single regulator has no problem with higher working pressures up to 170 bar.
Note that the working pressure is somewhat different from the filling pressure, which is 250 bar.
The regulator is adjustable with a screw diagonally behind the trigger. Top plate with dovetail The FX Impact M4 Extended – Black has a modified top plate compared to its predecessor.
The plate is thicker for more rigidity throughout the air rifle and, in addition, it now also features a dovetail rail, which allows the 30 MOA Picatinnyrail to be perfectly secured at any desired distance.
By the way, that Picatinnyrail is also a bit longer, giving even more freedom in mounting options.
Due to the forward tilt of the rail by 30 MOA, the rifle scope will maintain a larger adjustment range at very long distances. Quick Set Trigger The trigger is new in every way.
Because the FX Impact M4 Extended – Black is such a universal platform, FX looked at what it took to construct a trigger unit that can be set to fit any style.
In hunting, for example, you want a predictable long stroke, while in shooting, the trigger should preferably be featherweight with a refined breaking point that breaks like glass.
With the Quick Set Trigger, that can be adjusted with a single screw.
In addition, the entire trigger can be moved in distance, the first and second stages are adjustable and the trigger blade is height adjustable and can be twisted. Power Plenum 750 With a regulated air supply of 75 cc, the FX Impact M4 Extended – Black has more than enough air ready for the valve to shoot even the heaviest slugs with enough power.
In addition, a large plenum capacity gives the ability to adjust the regulator pressure lower than would be the case with a smaller plenum. Adjustment Options The FX Impact has always been known for being adjustable in many ways.
So you can fine-tune the FX Impact M4 Extended – Black on all sides.
We already discussed the regulator above, but that is by far not the only adjustment you can do.
Using the power button on the front, just above the compressed air reservoir connection, you can adjust the spring preload of the valve spring. As you unscrew the screw, indicator grooves appear and the more grooves you see, the more air is let through.
On the left side of the system, the hammer spring preload is adjustable with the already famous Quick Tune system.
Here the spring preload can be adjusted via a macro wheel in 16 large steps (1.5-4.5 m/s or 5-15 fps), and then you use a micro-adjustment wheel to control the final fine-tuning (0.3-0.6 m/s or 1-2 fps).
The more preload, the more air is allowed to pass through and the faster the projectile will go.
Finally, most calibers also have a Dual Hole transfer port in the barrel.
This means that the barrel has two passages on either side where the air is propelled into the barrel.
The small passage, marked with a ‘P’ is generally used for pellets and turning the barrel 180 degrees creates a wider passage for the transfer port, allowing more air (and thus more power) to pass through for heavier projectiles such as slugs.
For that reason, it also has an “S” next to it. Superior Heavy STX barrel FX uses liners in the barrel, with the pulls and pitches pressed into it from the outside.
This gives a very smooth running surface with minimal drag.
This Superior Heavy liner has a pitch ratio specifically suited for slugs.
As an added benefit, the liners can also be changed very quickly for another caliber or ammunition type.
The only other thing that needs to be replaced is the pellet probe. Adjustable shoulder piece The shoulder piece of the FX Impact M4 Extended – Black is adjustable in height.
This can be done infinitely by loosening a screw on the right side.
This way, the perfect shooting position for any stature is always possible.
The shoulder piece features a comfortable curve with sufficient grip. UG1 grip To take the comfort and feel with the weapon to an even higher level, FX has equipped the Impact M4 with a new (AR15 style) UG1 grip with more defined shapes and grip surfaces with excellent friction. High capacity magazine Even the magazine has been revised with new, stronger materials.
The internal mechanism has been optimized so that the rotating part still moves smoothly and with power even with the very heaviest slugs. Accessory rails In addition to the now dovetail-mounted 30 MOA Picatinny rail, the FX Impact M4 Extended – Black also features two Picatinny accessory rails on either side.
There is also a Picatinny rail on the bottom, perfectly situated for mounting a bipod. Two-sided tension siphon The tension siphon with comfortably large knob is situated on the right side, but for those who prefer it on the left side, the FX Impact M4 Extended – Black provides the ability to simply move the tension siphon to the other side of the PCP compressed air rifle.
