The FX Maverick Sniper differs from all previous FX compressed air rifles by the fact that it has not one, but two AMP regulators. The first regulator already reduces the pressure for the second regulator, allowing it to do its job even more precisely, resulting in an extremely constant output. Both regulators are adjustable from the outside and it is important that a mutual pressure difference between 30 and 40 bar is maintained.

Naturally, the FX Maverick Sniper is equipped with the well-known FX Power Plenum, a plenum with a large air capacity (98 cc) that ensures that there is sufficient capacity to also fire heavy projectiles such as slugs with more power and therefore higher speed. An additional advantage is that a lower regulator pressure can be used. The maximum specified power as stated in the specifications can be achieved with the separately available FX Maverick Slug Power kit.

Also used in the FX Maverick Sniper is the FX Superior STX Standard liner in the barrel with full barrel jacket. As with the original STX (Smooth Twist X) liner, the pulls and fields are pressed in from the outside, resulting in a very smooth finish and therefore minimal frictional resistance. The process for this has been optimized, whereby an even greater precision has been achieved with an even greater precision as the end result. The advantage of using liners is that you can easily change caliber or pitch in the FX STX barrel system.

In addition to a 20 MOA Weaver/Picatinny rail for mounting a rifle scope or red dot, the Maverick also has two Weaver/Picatinny accessory rails on either side and another on the bottom for the trigger guard. The adjustable match trigger can be perfectly adjusted to your preference and the use of a carbon bottle ensures that the front can be kept nice and light.

In terms of power and accuracy, the FX Maverick Sniper is comparable to the FX Impact, except in a more tactical jacket that offers more possibilities to customize the compressed air rifle with aftermarket parts as you see fit. The external power adjuster is inherited from the FX Wildcat MKIII. The handy adjusting wheel on the back lets you fine-tune the hammer in both macro and micro adjustment. The revised FX shoulder pad and AR grip give this FX a stable and ergonomic hold.
